Things To Come

Well. On the recommendation of a few friends. I'm now downloading this new game called 'GunZ'. It seems interesting enough. An MMOTPS (Massive Multiplayer Online Third Person Shooter) about lord knows what. I'm not quite sure if it's what one would consider an MMO however, as it is apparently played similarly to the Jedi Knight games, and it is played in the same way one would use the online multiplayer function of any game. You pick a server, then connect to a game of your liking. Such things include the usual stuff. Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, CTF. There's also something called Assassination, which I'm guessing will be a Juggernaut of kinds.

Now the actual obtaining of this game is quite difficult for poor old me, as I'm confined to the shackles of my 56k modem and as such, the 131 MB file is rather taxing... But having hunted down an option to disable forced reconnections, and a 5 hour connection limit, I'm hoping to be able to download while I sleep. (Sounds like one of those infomercial products that never work)

Tomorrow, or today I suppose seeing the time, I'm going into town to bare witness to that which is War Of The Worlds on the IMax (I seem to have REALY good luck with movies lately as Star Wars III was also on said IMax...) with Yoshi. So you can expect a full report on that when I get back. Or on Monday. Whenever I decide it's worth bothering, as I will probably want to try out GunZ before doing much else.

In any case, I'll just shamelessly plug my Air Force RPB and leave you saying. "It may be the early bird that catches the worm... But it is the fashionably late one that steals it at half the effort".

I'm Baaaaaaack...

That's right boys, girls and everything in between. My computer is back from the shop and workin fine! Well... As fine as this computer can anyway. But rather than bitch about wishing I too had a tiny Hercules, I will explain what was wrong and such.

We sent it in finally, as the power supply simply packed it in and moved to Hawaii or something. But in any case, with no conceivable method of running the computer in any way shape or form, mother dearest was forced to send the ol girl in for repairs. And I mean this literally. She summoned the almighty grandmother to take it... That's parents for you... Anyway. Once it was in, they did the obvious thing first. They went on holiday. Don't you just love that warm snuggly feeling of customer satisfaction? I know I sure do. So after that little charade was over, they got down to the more important business of actually fixing the damn thing. Now, first things first. New power supply. All hooked up and rearing to go. This did not however, fix my Blue Screen Of Death problem. So they cracked the case open, and found what they described as a 'coffee like substance, mixed with dust'. This was cooked to perfection and left to dry apparently, as it covered a section of both my motherboard and graphics card. Now the first thing that I thought was "We don't drink coffee" (I'm more of a tea man myself). Of course, I was sure to point out the fact that it had been doing it since we bought it, so they couldn't say "Coffee like!" at me. So the solution was apparently simple... Lace this substance with vinegar and leave to dry for 3 days. Now my first qualm about this was brought to my attention by my good friend Scythe. Vinegar is very acidic... WHY would they be putting something acidic on the cards? Long story slightly shorter. It's fixed. So I'll hopefully be able to post frequently which is a good thing.

Now that I've bored you all to death I have but one last thing to say... "People think that I must be a very strange person. This is not correct. I have the heart of a small boy. It is in a glass jar on my desk."
