The Last Few Days
It's amazing what a few days can bring about... The last time I posted, I mentioned a certain someone that I liked, whom I was hiding my true intentions from. Well... This is no longer the case. She worked out just what my thoughts were, and in essence, turned me back. While this is not exactly unexpected, that didn't exactly make things feel any better.
So now, things are slowly getting back to normal between us, and that can only be a good thing. The other party and I however, seem to have hit a snag. He has become somewhat... Uncomfortable with me, which isn't what I want at all.
On a lighter note, I keep promising I'll review things, so here I go with a review of the newish movie "Lord Of War".
The final line of his opening monologue is a play on an old quote, and possibly the best thing I've heard uttered in a cinema in the last decade or so. "There are over 550 million firearms in worldwide circulation. That's one firearm for every twelve people on the planet. The only question is: How do we arm the other 11?" It's lines like these that had me in a constant good mood, no matter how dreary things seemed to get, which was a definite plus, as many drama's fall short when they get the audience so bogged down, that you leave the movie on a complete downer. Hopefully, other directors will take a page from Andrew Niccol's book.
The entire movie is accompanied by the narrating monologue of Yuri Orlov (Nicholas Cages character), which gives the whole movie a warm fuzzy feeling to anyone who's missed this style of story telling, as it vanished from our movies in recent times. It seems to become necessary, as the movie moves bounds and leaps across the many different time periods in which Yuri peddles his wares.
There are some very emotional scenes between Yuri and his brother, and the entire ending dose fall on a very sad note, however, it manages to keep it's stride and ends finds it's way to keep us all entertained.
All in all, it's a great movie that should be seen. Whether your a drama lover, comedy fanatic or just plain war enthusiast, this is something you should definitely see.
And on that note, I point out that scientists have made an amazing discovery that baffled the entire community... Men are different from Women!
