By The Gaming Gods!
Are my skills in gaming truly as pitiful as they appear? My god I can't even get past world 1-2 of Super Mario now... I swear now an oath before the gods who created our world. Shigeru Miyamoto... Hideo Kojima... And John Romero (Hey... Doom WAS good). I shall regain my lost powers. I shall take back what is legitimately my birthright as a gamer.
I know the issue is something so simple, that I've overlooked it every step of the way... Something so obvious that no one has ever thought to point it out... But just recently, I think Yoshi inadvertently gave me exactly what I was missing. Strategy. I had never noticed it before... But I don't ever really think while I'm playing a game. I kind of just let it flow and play on reflex. It was not until Yoshi told me just how mentally exhausting his matches with Napz are in SSBM. How they both have to think so hard to get one up on each other. And that's when it hit me. I don't think while I play SSBM. My fingers and my eyes do all the leg work, and that's that. But it's time I fixed that... I need to lock myself in a room for a few weeks and just drill this concept into myself... Think every step of the way in every game... Hopefully we shall see results.
Oh and in case you were wondering... My inaptitude with Mario is simply a misconception. I guess I just forgot to take the game seriously and ran head on blindly into a steam train. These things happen I guess...

Why have I never left a comment here? I have no idea... perhaps my laziness is truly getting the better of me. :-/
Either way Mav man, I disagree with this entire anomaly called "strategy". What is this blasphemy of gaming you speak of? In SSBM, Link and I are unstoppable!... mostly because I just wing it. But hey! It works when you're ~taking out someone with Up+B, then wrap it up with a nice Down+A! In Oblivion, do you think I consider my options on how to take out a Troll with my lame Steel Longsword? Hell no! It's me we're talking about! I just charged that SOB and hoped for the best!
Of course five minutes later my crack addict character was on the ground with his skull bashed in, but hey, that's not the point!
Either way, the strategy of "Winging it" works out as well as any smart-alacky thought. I only use my head in strategy games like Starcraft and Rise of Nations. Why should I have to actually think in Oblivion or even Super Mario? Aren't video games meant to be making us into Zombies?

Oh... I guess so...
